coast to country
my colour palette has changed over the last twelve months – as a result of two artist residencies in the country – all will be revealed in October in an exhibition ‘Beverley to Curtin Springs’ at Ellenbrook Arts, Ellenbrook, WA
the challenge of working with canvas again
has led to experimenting with different media – stitching on Japanese Ho-Sho paper which has been painted with acrylic paint – always love the combination of stitch and paper ….
time to get back to work ….
off to the country
Looking forward to my artist residency at Beverley Station Arts, 120 Vincent Street, Beverley from 1st-27th November. The Beverley Station Gallery is open Thursday-Sunday 11-3pm I will have some artworks on display whilst working in the studio and in the landscape on new pieces. Everyone welcome. Beverley is about 120km east of Perth.
enjoy the moment
return from Curtin Springs, NT
My residency certainly went quickly, I learned a lot about life on a cattle station in the Northern Territory! – I know the experience will influence my art for a long time – I created some small pieces on site and also the beginnings of other artworks which I will develop further in my studio – I will have some of the work and treasures I collected on display at my next open gallery on Sunday 3rd June – everyone welcome!
heading to the ‘red centre’
colours and themes continue
After a tidy up of my studio I found work that I had completed a few years ago – although I may not be working in the same media at the moment the work has the same feel – and with a little ‘re-inventing’ integrates with my current pieces
